Jolaysha Mitchell, affectionately known as
The Buffalo Queen, represents the City of Baker with grace, confidence, and purpose. A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jolaysha is the daughter of Clara Joseph and Joseph Mitchell, and the proud sister of Takeira Joseph, Joseph Mitchell III, and Tylahn Mitchell.
She began her education at Parkridge Academic Center, where her love for learning and leadership first emerged. Currently a student at Baker High School, Jolaysha continues to excel academically while actively participating in school and community activities. Her favorite subject, mathematics, reflects her sharp analytical skills and attention to detail.
A talented dancer and former cheerleader, Jolaysha is known for her discipline, creativity, and commitment to excellence. She gives her all to every performance, combining technique and passion in a way that inspires those around her. As a member of the Princess to Queen Mentorship Program, she has embraced her role as a positive example to her peers and younger students.

Outside of school, Jolaysha enjoys reading her Bible, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Grounded in faith and supported by her family’s love, she strives each day to live with purpose and integrity.
Looking to the future, Jolaysha aspires to become a judge or attorney, using her voice and intellect to promote justice and fairness within her community.
